SmartDBA Migration Program

Introduction

Effective April 10^th 2008, BMC Software will no longer market the following products:

• BMC DBXray for Oracle
• BMC SQL-Explorer for Oracle
• BMC SpaceExpert for Oracle

BMC will continue to support these products until July 10^th 2010, at which date support will be discontinued.

Database Brothers, Inc., ("DBI") has licensed the development and distribution rights to these products and will be providing all future versions, enhancements and support to these solutions under the DBI brand. DBI has already released enhanced versions of these products and the DBI versions are now available for your consideration and use as follows:

• Brother-Eagle^TM Enterprise Edition for Oracle replaces DBXray for Oracle
• Brother-Owl^TM for Oracle replaces BMC SQL-Explorer for Oracle
• Brother-Wolf^TM for Oracle replaces BMC SpaceExpert for Oracle

For BMC customers with active support agreements for the withdrawn BMC products, DBI is offering free licenses of their replacement products. The maintenance and support fees for the DBI replacement products are not included in the free licence exchange, however DBI will apply credits for BMC pre-paid maintenance towards DBI fees.

This offer from DBI is intended to help our customers protect and realise the full value from their investments. DBI's free licence offer expires on March 31^st 2009. DBI are offering special incentives and discounts on DBI maintenance and support to customers who transfer their licenses to DBI prior to September 30^th 2008.

KTSL has been appointed as UK reseller for DBI products and will be pleased to work with you to help migrate from the BMC SmartDBA solutions to the equivalent DBI tools.

• BMC "DBXray for Oracle" customers with current maintenance agreements may upgrade their licenses FREE of new license charges to Brother-Eagle Enterprise Edition for Oracle.
• BMC "Space Expert for Oracle" customers with current maintenance agreements may upgrade their licenses FREE of new license charges to Brother-Wolf^TM
• BMC "SQL Explorer for Oracle" customers with current maintenance agreements may upgrade their licenses FREE of new license charges to Brother-Owl^TM
• BMC "SmartDBA Performance Monitoring for Oracle" customers may upgrade their licenses FREE of new license charges to Brother-Eagle^TM Enterprise Edition
• BMC "SmartDBA Performance Management for Oracle" customers may upgrade their licenses FREE of new license charges to Brother-Eagle^TM Enterprise Edition, Brother-Owl^TM, and Brother-Wolf^TM.

In all cases, new software support & maintenance license agreements with DBI are required.
